The one from the $50,000-per-plate fundraiser -- must have been very nice plates -- in which Mitt Romney decided to tell some high-rollers what he really thinks about his “fellow” Americans.
It’s a pretty ugly view of fellowship.
In Romney-world, if you’re out-of-work, you’re a loser. If your parents or grandparents receive Social Security or Medicare, they are phony "victims" who never really contributed and are now taking advantage of a handout.
In Romney-world, if a hungry child eats a subsidized school lunch, well, she’s obviously a free-loader bound to ruin the Republic.
Heck, in Romney-world, if you use the public library, go to a public park for a hike, take a ride on a public bus, well, you’re probably a moocher who doesn’t understand that entrepreneurs are the only people who matter. The real important people are self-made men like Mitt Romney, who did it all on his own!

There are 47 percent who are with [President Obama], who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it.[1]
The Romney-Ryan bizarre hatred of the government is out-of control.Government bureaucracy can be annoying, but enough already. All Americans are entitled to quality health care, enough food to survive, and a roof over their heads. Quality education, transit options, cultural programs, libraries, meat inspectors, cops and everything else that makes our society a decent one.
And, with that in mind, today I’m proud to announce that the Working Families Party is endorsing President Barack Obama for reelection.

Most New Yorkers are already planning to vote for Obama. He leads in New York State polls by 28 points.[2] But you can make your vote count EVEN MORE by voting for Obama on the Working Families ballot line this November.

A vote on the WFP line tells your elected officials in Albany and in Washington that you support the WFP's views on jobs and wages, on healthcare and Medicare and Social Security. It's a vote for clean water and against hydrofracking. For getting big money out of elections. For quality public schools no matter where you’re born.
Of course, we don’t agree with President Obama on everything. For one, we wish he’d taken on fraud and corruption on Wall Street more aggressively. But stack him up against the Romney-Ryan team and the choice is an easy one. We need President Obama to win, and then we need to organize like mad to roll back the gains that the Tea Party and their financial backers have made.
And by voting for Obama on the Working Families ballot line on the ballot, you can make your vote count for Obama, but also stand up for your progressive values.

Reelecting President Obama won't solve all America’s problems. We won't agree with him on everything. And the day after the election, we'll go right back to organizing on the crucial issues of the day, supporting and criticizing as called for.
